It's a long story - which I won't bore you this - but the result is that my daughter's MacBook won't boot. When switched on it has a kernel panic. Holding down Cmd+ R loads MacOS Utilities and running Disk Utility reveals it has four 'drives'
HGST SATA Internal Physical Disk and under that 'Macintosh HD' Disk images Apple disk image Media OS X Base System Trying Cmd+I on each of these in turn says that none of them is 'bootable'. I've tried reinstalling the OS via the Internet but it wouldn't complete the operation. Internet Recover ran overnight without any joy. Any thoughts as to my next move? I can start the machine using an external disk (one from my old machine from when I upgraded to an SSD). Any help appreciated. Thanks!
