OK ..... I found the problem out myself...it was a software conflict and I 
deleted a lot of apps when suddenly the iphone 11 sprang into life! 
ergo...software glitch! Not sure which app/apps are responsible yet but 
I'll work back until I find it. 
BIG thank you to all who read and applied their brain to the problem. So 
the lesson learned is not to trust your apps when transferring them over en 
bloc to new phone. Perhaps an update not applied or a simple clash 
somewhere amongst the apps.

Onward and upwards Smuggers.....
