My 2017 Intel MBA has been suffering from this problem for sometime now and
it’s getting annoying. Often soon after waking from sleep everything freezes
and then eventually screen goes black with message saying press any key to
restart. Report talks of kernel panic.
I took it to an Apple Genius Bar this morning. Interestingly the genius said he
has an M1 Mac Mini with the same problem and the same kernel panics.
I think Jason mentioned this restarting problem a few months ago.
So the problem could be that Big Sur is trying to get too clever by half with
secure areas (?) etc.
I thought I would just share in case anyone was interested or has a relevant
comment.
Nick
