Sounds like the WD Discovery software is creating a virtual representation of 
the NAS drive and showing it as a locally connected drive, mimicking an 
external USB drive. That’s not particularly helpful when you’re trying to view 
it over the network but WD probably think it’s easier.

Is there a web config page you can go to to make changes to the NAS drive?
