Thanks Steve - I had read that on Apple’s website but thought it would either 
work (if it didn’t have a coating) or not work at all if it did. I wasn’t 
expecting a low battery indication, but maybe it’s just struggling to get 
through the coating. I checked the pack and there is no reference to any 
coating so it’s a bit of a mystery. Suppose I’d better find the same Panasonic 
ones that were in the original.
