The battery of my Apple 11" iPad Pro 2nd generation, bought from Apple refurbished in 2022, loses power very quickly, including when asleep overnight. It still charges to 100% but doesn't have the battery health check software option.
I'm reluctant to go to a 3rd party repair shop in my local Horsham town centre, as I suspect the replacement lithium battery would be a cheap copy. I've had a poor experience doing that on an old iPad. Could this be a software fault and not the battery? Is it cost-effective to take it to an Apple shop for repair, especially as the nearest Apple authorised shop to me is in Guildford? A 4th gen M2 (2022 model) 256gb refurb is on the Apple refurb store for £669 v the new M5 chip £999. Time to buy? I also read that there is a firmware update for the Apple Magic Keyboard with fingerprint ID. Is that done automatically, or do I need to download? If so, how? Thanks for any advice.
