I can answer the first one...human nature and the political nature of the
DA. Convicting a rich celebrity will make his career. He'll be on the fast
track for future public office. Too tempting to pass up.
Possible... sad if true... the NAACP does not need any more ammo.
Some have said that the media wants to portray Kobe as innocent. Actually I
was surprised at the comment because I've seen it the other way, they seem
to me to be pretty insistent on spinning it in the prosecution's favor.
(After the initial spate of oh he couldn't do it I mean) Even today on Fox
and Friends E. D. was trying to spin the detectives testimony that he
stopped to make it seem like he should have stopped before she said no.
<shaking head>
Everyone has an opinion.
He should have kept his pants zipped, but I sure don't want to see a guy go
to jail when the physical evidence points to other people. I mean geeze,
the semen and blood in her panties belonged to someone else. Isn't that
enough to say he's not the guy and it's possible a rapist is still on the
loose? I mean come on? Did the defense team plant another guy's semen in
her drawers????
If the case *IS* very weak, like it appears to be.... I hope the judge throws it
out... I can't help but thinking that the defense is doing a terrific job of spin
right now.... We shall see...
