Very true...and other than being on the bus most of
the day, I am very pleased over all with the
conference. We did get a bit smacked on the hand at
the meeting with the Career Reps and they stated that
we worked for THEM..not our host commands..and our
goal was to get the courses and classes as well as the
experience rather than being part of their labor
force.......making me think this should be told to the
commands too.

We have been given more course work to do and
contracting is the only group of interns that has been
given that..so today we meet with the board to find
out exactly what that consists of. And if this is the
case...why don't the other interns (logistics,
engineering, and others) have this requirement as
well?

We were also told that we have a firm GS-12 position
waiting for us if we get through this program...it was
guarranteed when the commands picked us up. We also
have Priority One for retainment (since they are
investing so much money in us) against rifting if the
commands have to cut their labor force. That is a good
thing. Now they don't have to keep us where we are
though...since we signed a mobility agreement, we can
go where ever the Navy determines they need us...but
we were told that we would probably not have to leave
the lower 48 unless there was a very very big need.
Sigh...well...I did see that Germany needed a
Contracts person.

=====
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end
the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance.
