Hi Gang,

Sure it is nice if a new plane comes with instructions and all of your
settings laid out for you, but like DP says if you are buying that type of
model you should already know a little about putting one together. I just
recently purchased a new NYX from Tom and Mark at www.f3x.com and it has no
instructions. Is that a Big Deal? No way, everything except installing the
servos and hooking up the linkages is done for you. Including all of the
wiring and installation of the ballast system. I will admit, I sent an
email to Tom and asked about his set up (he took fifth with it at Visalia)
since I knew his must at least be a great place to start. Tom answered back
quickly with a nice Excel spread sheet for his settings. As for DP's
planes, most guys would not want to fly a plane set up like he does his. I
was fortunate enough to get to fly one of his Mavericks several years ago at
Lake Wilson. He likes his CG waaaay back there. The plane was a little
twitchy but it sure would turn nice. I had Bozo calling turns and traffic
for me and as more and more planes launched I could here Daryl hollering at
Phil to take the plane. Of course Phil just told me not to pay any
attention to Daryl and to keep flying. I got to fly it for about 20 minutes
until Daryl got too nervous and came and took it away from me himself. Sure
glad he did though since he only made a few more passes with it and it ran
out of battery and spun into the hill. I felt bad for Daryl but sure was
glad I was not still flying it when the battery gave up.

See Ya,
