StoryBots And The Future of Learning,With Gregg Spiradellis, JibJab
----
What would Sesame Street look like, if it was created in the world of
smartphones, tablets, and YouTube? It might look a little bit like
StoryBots (www.storybots.com), the new kids educational and
entertainment service just launched by JibJab (www.jibjab.com). We
caught up with Gregg Spiradellis, one of the founders of JibJab, to
hear about Storybots.

First, to catch up our readers on JibJab, can you quickly talk about
where the company is nowadays and the whole greeting card business?

Gregg Spiradellis: Four years ago, we saw an opportunity to reinvent
e-cards. We recognized that it was a large (Continued...)

Insights and Opinions: Should you follow the advice of your board?
----
Entrepreneurs often defer to their board of directors in decisions.
The question is: should they? In our Insights and Opinions section
today, we share the advice of investor Dave Berkus on the topic of: Do
you always follow the advice of your board?.

This may be news, but boards of directors can offer bad advice. A
typical board is composed of five persons in a company that has
received outside funds from professional investors. Two members
usually represent the founders or management, two are from the
investors, and one is often elected by the four to represent the
industry in which the company works.

The financial investors typically have deep experience running
companies, often in other industries. The fifth board member often is
an expert, but not an executive with operational experience. Realizing
that this description is a generalization that fits some, but not all,
growing firms, the dynamics of the board are a key component in the
effectiveness of advice and leadership given (Continued...)

Nancy Tellem. Microsoft said the studio will develop interactive and
linear content for Xbox and other devices. Microsoft said the effort
is part of an effort to "collaborate with the creative community" to
create content for the Xbox brand. As part of the effort, Microsoft
also said it will create a "2-way TV experience" with partners such as
Sesame Workshop and National Geographic on the Xbox. Tellem was most

StockTwits Adds Social Sentiment Feature
----
Are you positive or negative on that stock? San Diego-based StockTwits
has just added a feature to let its users indicate if they're bullish
or bearish on a specific ticker, which will be embedded into a user's
posts. StockTwits said the new feature will both allow members to

as public companies and investor relations departments to better

is part of a set of more features which it is developing related to

who is also a very active angel investor in technology startups. The
service allows users to discuss the stock market and companies, in a
short, Twitter-like format.

U.S. broadcast. The deal--announced by Hulu in Japan--calls for SNL to
