The funding was led by FTV Capital, and also included Elevation Partners and others. MarketShare, which is co-led by Wes Nichols and Jon Vein, said the financing will go towards its technology platform and accelerate growth in markets worldwide. MarketShare develops technology used to help with understanding the payoff of investments across a company's marketing and sales effort, including TV, print, display, search, video, social media, website, PR, and other efforts. The firm said it was advised by LUMA Partners in the deal. The firm said it received $4.9M from Nordic Games Licing AB for its titles Darksiders, Red Faction, MX vs ATV, other owned software (includes Destroy all Humans!, Summoner and more), and other licensed software (includes Marvel Super Hero Squad, Supreme Commander and more); $1.35M from Gearbox SOftware for its title Homeworld; and $0.3M for 505 Gams Srl for its titles Drawn to Life and Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter. THQ has been auctioning off its entire slate of videogames, after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Dadswell was most recently VP, GEnreal COunsel for North and Latin America, and Corporate Director of Global Intellectual Property at bioMerieux. He also has served at BioDelivery Sciences International, Glaxo, GlaxoWellcome and GlaxoSmithKline. Dadswell replaces Christian Cabou, who the firm said has retired. GroundMetrics Gets $1.5M In Second Round ---- San Dieog-based GroundMetrics, which develops electromagnetic sensing technology for the oil, gas, mining, geothermal, and environmental market, said late Monday that it has raised $1.5M in a second round of financing. The new round was led by the Tech Coast Angels, and also included the Rady Venture Fund, La Costa Investment Group, Crescent Ridge Partners Ventures, and Rancho Santa Fe Partners. The firm also said it also included financing from investors in Cyprus, Dubai, Great Britain, and India. GroundMetrics develops electromagnetic sensing technology used for enhanced oil recovery and other efforts.
