Rubicon Project said it will pay approximately $122M for Chango, primarily in stock. Chango's software includes keyword, contextual targeting and retargeting offerings. Rubicon Project said it will integrate Chango's technology into its Rubicon Project marketplace. Chango was venture backed by Extreme Ventures, iNovia Capital, Metamorphic Ventures, and RHO Canada Ventures. aTyr Pharma Finds $76M ---- San Diego-based biopharmaceuticals developer aTyr Pharma has raised a big, $76M Series E funding round, the company said late Tuesday. According to aTyr, the funding as led by Sofinnova Ventures and an un-named, large institutional investor. The funding also included T. Rowe Price Associates, Federated Investors, Deerfield, Rock Springs Capital Management, EcoR1 Capital, Sphera Global Healthcare and two other un-named institutional investors, in addition to its current venture capital partners. The company said the new funds go towards its clinical development program and pipeline expansion. aTyr's pharmaceuticals are aimed at treating severe rare diseases in the immune system area. http://www.socaltech.com/intelligence/?action=showdeal&id=63461 ZipRecruiter Expands Product Suite ---- Santa Monica-based hiring software developer ZipRecruiter, which is led by Ian Siegel, has expanded its product suite, with a new onboarding software for new employees. ZipRecruiter said its new product, ZipHire, helps manage electronic offer letters, employment agreements, and other new hire paperwork. Pricing on the new product was not announced. The new software is a significant expansion from ZipRecruiter's existing software, which helps employers send job postings to job boards and manage job applicants. WireCash Launches International Money Transfer Service ---- Santa Monica-based WireCash said Tuesday that it has launched a new, online International money transfer marketplace, which aggregates other international money transfer services in a single place. The company, founded by Jonathan Cooper, said it lets consumers compare money transfer options based on brand, price, recipient payout option, and other criteria. WireCash said it is looking to help the international money transfer and remittance industry--which it says is mostly offline--tap into the online world. Cooper is the former founder of ATMCASH, which had offered similar money remittance services via ATM machine. AssetAvenue Brings Funding To $4.0M ---- Los Angeles-based online, real estate crowdfunding site Asset Avenue has upped its funding to $4.0M, according to a recent regulatory filing by the firm. According to the filing, the company now has raised a total of $4.0M, from a total of 43 investors. Details on the latest funding--which appears to be a convertible note funding--have not yet been announced. The round appears to be a continuation of funding the company has received from Matrix Partners, NetEase, Launchpad LA, Bam Ventures, and Russ Meyer. According to the filing, the venture firm has yet to ink any limited partner commitments on the new fund. Correlation Ventures last raised a fund back in 2011, and says it currently has $165M under management. Correlation's portfolio includes InstaEDU (Acquired by Chegg), Sidecar, Madefire, Virsto (Acquired by VMware); and many others. The firm is led by David Coats and Trevor Kienzle. GoFormz Gains $3M For Mobile Business Forms ---- San Diego-based GoFormz, a startup which develops software to turn paper forms into mobile-fillable electronic forms, has raised $3M in a Series A funding, the company said today. The funding came from Cloud Apps Capital Partners and FLOODGATE. Cloud Apps Capital Partners' Matt Holleran joins the company's board with the funding. GoFormz develops software which transfers paper forms into electronic apps, which can be filled out on a smartphone or tablet, and preserves the same information and look and feel as those original, paper forms. The company offers up its software via subscription plans, ranging from a single-form, free edition to per-user, $25/user/month plans for large enterprises.
