Netflix, The CW In New Content Licensing Deal
----
Netflix, the television and movie-streaming service which has
significant operations in Los Angeles, and The CW Network said last
night that they are in a new, multi-year content licensing
relationship. The two said that the new agreement between the two
allows Netflix to remain the exclusive, U.S. subscription television
service for previously seasons of scripted series broadcast on the
network. Content covered by the series include 'Frequency',
'Supergirl', 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend',  'Arrow', 'The Vampire Diaries'
and 'The Flash', among many others. Financial details of the new
licensing deal were not announced. The two have been in a licensing
deal over content since 2011.

SGN Buys TinyCo For Mobile Games
----
Los Angeles-based SGN the mobile gaming company led by MySpace
co-founder Chris DeWolfe, said late Tuesday that it has acquired
TinyCo, a San Francisco-based mobile game developer. TinyCo is the
developer of the Family Guy and Marvel Avengers mobile games, and was
backed by Andreessen Horowitz. Financial details of the acquisition
were not disclosed. SGN said that the 125 person team at TinyCo will
continue to be led by TinyCo CEO and co-founder Suli Ali. SGN said
that TinyCo expects to earn $100 million in revenue this year.

Electricitybilling.com Debuts New Software
----
Santa Monica-based Electricitybilling.com said today that it has
launched a new version of its software, which is used for electricity
billing by utilities. According to the company, the new software
features such features as HTML invoices, PayPal and Braintree payment
integration, a new utility meter reading application for the iPad and
iPhone, and third party APIs. Electricitybilling.com set up a new off
ice in Santa Monica in March; the company was originally founded in
Australia. Electricitybilling.com's CEO is Morgan Duncan.

Ignyta Names General Counsel
----
San Diego-based biotechnology developer Ignyta has named Dr. Christian
V. Kuhlen as its new General Counsel and Secretary, the company said
on Tuesday. Kuhlen was previously General Counsel, Vice President and
Secretary of Genoptix, where he had been from its IPO until
acquisition by Novartis. Kehlen also was previously an attorney at
Cooley LLP. Kuhlen replaces Matt Onaitis. Ignyta is developing
precision medicine products focused on treating cancer.

Lytx Targets Trucking Market With New Partnership
----
San Diego-based Lytx, which develops video-based, fleet- and driver-
safety systems, says it has linked up with audio and electronics
supplier Pana-Pacific. According to the company, Pana-Pacific is the
nation's leading supplier of audio and electronics to commercial
vehicle manufacturers, and particularly the heavy truck industry.
Financial details of the partnership were not announced.

VideoAmp Names Chief Revenue Officer
----
Santa Monica-based VideoAmp, which develops TV and video advertising
analytics software, said on Tuesday that it has named Michael Parkes
as its new Chief Revenue Officer. Parkes was most recently SVP of
Sales at Amobee, and also served at the same position at Adconion
Direct. Parkes has also served at eType and CNET Networks. Parkes is
the company's first Chief Revenue Officer, and will be responsible for
revenue generation and scaling the sales organization, according to
the company. VideoAmp is led by Ross McCray.

Jukin Media Raises $2.5M More
----
Los Angeles-based Jukin Media has just raised $2.5M more, according to
a regulatory filing from the company, in the form of debt funding. No
details on the new funding for the company have yet been announced.
Jukin Media finds and licenses viral, video content on the web, which
it then provides to both online and traditional media sources; the
company has previously raised funding from Samsung Venture Investment
Corporation, Maker Studios, Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments
(BDMI), along with others.

Hyperloop One Says Helsinki, Stockholm Could Be Only 28 Minutes Apart

Los Angeles-based technology developer Hyperloop One, which is
developing technology to bring Elon Musk's concept of a giant,
pneumatic tube to transport people and cargo from city-to-city to

Epicor Sold To KKR
----
Epicor, the enterprise software development firm which has significant
operations in Orange County, has been sold to private equity investor
KKR, the company announced Tuesday morning. Financial terms of the
sale were not announced. Epicor had been in the hands of another,
private equity investors--Apax Partners. Apax had put Epicor up on the
block in June, its second attempt to sell Epicor to a buyer.

Stamps.com Completes $55M ShippingEasy Buy
----
El Segundo-based Stamps.com said late last week that it has completed
its acquisition of ShippingEasy, a developer of web-based, shipping
software for online retailers. The deal was worth $55M in cash, and
had been announced in June. ShippingEasy had been one of Stamps.com's
primary competitors in serving e-commerce providers.
