exits for high tech companies in Southern California, there have now
been six big exits in the region over the last month worth over $100M.

Snapchat Takes Down Another Offensive Selfie Filter
----
Venice-based Snapchat has taken down a new so-called "yellowface"
selfie-filter from its service, which had allowed users to superimpose
squinted eyes and buck teeth on their images. The filter was removed
after widespread complaint from Asian users over the filter, which
some users on Twitter called the "most overtly racist filter ever".
The filter is the second, racial mis-step by Snapchat in the selfie
filter area: the company also faced widespread complaints when it
released a "Bob Marley" filter in April which users compared to
blackface. Snapchat had said the filter was inspired by anime, and was
meant to be "playful".

customer relationship management and deal tracking. Yardi's software
is being used to replace a manual, paper-driven process for its new
customer. Melvin Mark Companies manages more than three million square
feet of commercial space in the Portland metro area.

and technology strategy behind the company. Williams also has served
at Preventsys, where he was Chief Technology Officer and co-founder.

full of items of interest to what the company calls "geeks and
gamers"; the company recently raised a round of funding from Upfront
Ventures, Breakwater Investment Management, Time Inc., Downey

August 24, San Diego -- 5G: WHAT IS IT AND WHY DO WE NEED
IT? Commnexus. Automobile business
mogul Henry Ford is noted as saying, “If I had asked people what they
wanted, they would have said faster horses.” The purest sense of original
innovation is creating value before customers even see it, or understand
it. Consumers understand 5G is better than 4G, but what does that mean?
Lifestyle today is dependent upon reliable high-speed networks; there are
currently 6.4 billion connected devices in the world. The future will
bring about a society where life itself will be dependent on reliable
high-speed networks. 5G is the future. Connected cars operating with 5G’s
ultra-low latency are expected to utilize V2V (vehicle to vehicle)
communication, reducing car accidents and saving lives. Projected download
speed of 5G is 5 Gbps to 10 Gbps. However, 5G is much more than an increase
in network speed; it’s a significant increase in network capacity which
will catapult the IoT/IoE revolution, transforming the way we live.. See
