In Los Angeles, contact Ryan Mondillo ([email protected]). --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SpaceX Delays Manned Missions To 2018 ---- In the biggest impact so far of the loss of a Falcon 9 rocket in Cape Canaveral in August, Hawthorne-based SpaceX is delaying its first manned missions to space from 2017 to 2018. The delays reportedly give SpaceX time to completely develop new launchpad fueling procedures, which have been pinpointed as the cause of that devastating explosion earlier this year. Reports say that NASA had been targeting its first launch of astronauts into space on the Falcon 9 as earlier as April of 2017, only four months away. NantHealth Gets Win In Florida ---- Culver City-based personalized medicine technology devleoper NantHealth reported a win this morning in Florida. NantHealth said that it has signed a licensing agreement with the state, which gives access to its GPS Cancer test. That test is used by oncologists to guide patient treatment strategy. Financial details of the licensing agreement were not announced. Greenwave Systems Teams With Nuance ---- Irvine-based Greenwave Systems, and voice recognition software developer Nuance Communications said on Monday that the two are in an integration deal. The two said that Greenwave has integrated Nuance's AI-powered natural language technology as part of its Internet-of-Things services. Financial details of the integration deal were not announced. TeleSign Names New Chief Product Officer ---- Los Angeles-based TeleSign announced this morning that it has it named Tom Powledge as the company's new Chief Product Officer. Powledge was previously Vice President and General Manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), where he managed the company's ArcSign business. Prior to HPE, Powledge was Vice President of Managed Security Services at Cisco Systems, and also spent 20 years at Symantec. TeleSign is a major provider of user account verification software, and is well known for its mobile and phone authentication services. Intuit Courts Third Party Access To TurboTax With Open API ---- Intuit announced this morning that it is opening up access to third party developers to the consumers using TurboTax Online, which is developed out of San Diego. Cylane said it had hired two Enterprise Sales Manager, a Regional Channel Manager, and three Sales Engineers, all for the Australia and New Zealand region. The company pulled from veterans for FireEye, Juniper Networks, Splunk, Cisco, Blue Coat, and other companies for the new hires, which come after it raised a big $100M Series D funding round. Sonendo Scores $35M ---- Laguna Hills-based Sonendo, a developer of technology aimed at improving root canal treatment, has raised $35M more in an equity financing round, the company said on Monday. The funding was led by DiNovA Capital, and also included Fjord Ventures, OrbiMed Advisors, LLC, Meritech Capital Partners, NeoMed Management and SEB Private Equity. Michael Zhao of DiNovA Capital has joined the company's board as part of the funding. Sonendo said the funding goes towards commercialization of its system, which is an alternative to standard root canal treatment.
