The funding came from Versant Ventures, which launched the startup as its sole investor. Jecure's founders include CEO Jeffrey Stafford, PhD, and CSO James Veal, PhD, who previously were at Quanticel Pharmaceuticals (Acquried by Celgene in 2015). Quanticel Pharmaceuticals was also founded by Versant Ventures, and had been focused on cancer. SPACES said on Tuesday that it is bringing a new "Hello Kitty Actiongram" theme pack to HoloLens, the Microsoft virtual/augmented reality environment, adding 14 Hello Kitty holograms to the environment. SPACES said it is also planning additional, Hello Kitty characters--including Badtz-Maru, Keroppi and Pompompurin--in coming months. SPACES is a developer of virtual and augmented reality content. http://www.socaltech.com/hello_kitty_comes_to_microsoft_hololens_thanks_to_spaces/s-0069202.html Twilight Technology, Now Electronics Buy Semiconductor Manufacturer STI ---- Anaheim-based Twilight Technology and New York-based partner Now Electronics announced on Tuesday that they have acquired Semiconductor Technology (STI), a developer of NPN and PNP high voltage transistors, MOSFETs, and other transistors. Financial details of the asset acquisition were not announced. The two said they have created a new company, Twilight Now, which will do business as STI. The new company will be split between Anaheim and Huntington, New York. Twilight Technology is a developer of technology and semiconductors to support obsolete memory and semiconductor products. STI had been founded in 1968, and was known for its high voltage N-Channel Mosfet and high voltage NPN/PNP bipolar transistor technology. Ingenu Links With Microsoft Azure ---- San Diego-based Ingenu, which develops Internet-of-Things networking technology, said this morning that it has teamed up with Microsoft Corp., and will use Microsoft's Azure IoT Hub to facilitate deployment of networks based on its technology. The company said its device management platform will integrate with Azure's IoT Hub, which helps connect IoT data from Ingeu's networking technology with Azure services, including Stream Analytics, SQL Database, Event Hubs, App Service, and Power BI Embedded. Float Finds $3M To Help Millennials Establish A Credit Score ---- Los Angeles-based Float said late last week that it has raised $3M in an angel funding round, to help Millennials establish a credit score. The funding came from Camp One Ventures, Funders Club, 500 Startups, as well as the Silicon Valley Bank and MasterCard accelerator programs. The startup, led by Max Klein, is looking to help Millennials establish a credit score; the startup said that sixty three percent of Millenials don't own a credit card, and about 45 percent have a "thin file" which makes it difficult for them to apply for an receive those cards. Doimo will report to CEO Stuart McClure. Doimo was previously Executive Vice President of Global Solutions at Schneider Electric, where he had been for 12 years. Cylance says Doimo will lead its sales, marketing, business development and professional services organizations. Mattel Partners With Alibaba, Targets China ---- El Segundo-based toy company Mattel, and Chinese online marketplace giant Alibaba Group said Tuesday morning that the two companies are in a strategic partnership, where Alibaba Group will help Mattel reach the Chinese market. Financial details of the partnership were not announced. The two said they are seeking to "re-shape the way parents in China think about play."
