Don,

Concerning antennas, take a look at the article at
http://www.evdoforums.com/thread3136.html . This is from the
3gstore.com folks. If you decide to go with EVDO, either Sprint or
Verizon, and want to buy a wireless modem. They have USB modems,
express card modems and PCMCIA modems. The USB modems would be the
most versatile since all or nearly all computers sold nowadays have
USB.

Keep in mind that if you are deep inside a building and can't place
the external antenna near a window, it may not help all that much.

Yes, I would check to see whether the modem you buy has a connector
for an external antenna. Again the 3gstore.com people would be able to
help you out there.

If you decide to go with AT&T instead of EVDO, the antenna article
will still be pertinent. The 3gStore doesn't sell AT&T, but you could
likely buy one of the antennas they sell from them or someone else and
use it as long it has the appropriate connector or you can get an
adapter cable (sometimes called a pigtail) for your modem or phone you
plan to use as a modem. I think Frank used to sell pigtails and maybe
he still does.

The modems usually have a 15 day trial period during which you can
return it if things don't work out for you.
