While this is off-topic somewhat, I have been plagued by this problem as
well.

To establish a netmeeting through your firewall requires you to forward
numerous ports. While this all makes sense, I have never in my lifetime
been able to get netmeeting to work through various Linksys routers. If
you do succeed, let me know.

Here's a good start... See Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 158623 for
specifics on port forwarding. See also SMC Knowledge base article 1763 and
1677 and Linksys KB10934167.

The industry realized that having consumers setup port forwarding was not
very realistic, so they came up with Universal Plug-n-Play Networking
protocols. The Linksys Routers have this feature, and you can learn how to
set it up by reading the Linksys Knowledge Base Article KB10934389 or SMC
Knowledge Base Article 2681.

If anyone has good information on what UPnP actually does and if it actually
works with Netmeeting/MSN Messenger... I'd like to hear about it.

To keep this message on topic, I will say that I use Surveyor's Webcam32 on
my wireless laptop when I want to establish a video-call. I use POTS for
the audio and one-way webcam for the video. Works great for those holiday
family get-togethers.
