Only if you want to "stomp" the rest of the 802.11b users into
the dirt and make them mad.
  The gain you see with a good antenna, and only 2 or 3 watts will
really tick off the users in your area, that's only a hundred times
the signal that the consumer boxes put out.
  Of course, when you get your ham ticket, you'll know all that, 
and share the airwaves nicely right?
