Dave, your points are excellent. My respect for the IEEE just went up by 10 dB. That said, I assure you that I have dug up and read each of these papers and none appeared to be spoofs. To me at least, the CPIP of IETF: RFC1149 (Carrier Pigeon Internet Protocol: A Standard for the Transmission of IP Datagrams on Avian Carriers) is one thing, but [An Engineering Perspective on Physic Phenomena] is something else altogther.
