Hello all, I am setting up a low cost surveillance system. This project originated when one of our IVU (www.irvineunderground.org) members had his car broken into, with several valuable items taken from his car. The theif (or theives) tried to steal the car, but didn't have a big enough screwdriver. We anticipated that they will be back to complete the theft.
Project website is on my site www.not5150.com. It also has the link to the original thread on the IVU Boards. I am aiming for a low cost, rugged, reliable and easy system that can record live video. We need to stream it to a hard-drive or VCR (for prosecution). In addition, we need to stream to a website so that the local watch commander and dispatch can watch. I have utter contempt for theives. Between us all, we have the expertise, experience and equipment to pull this off. I want to catch this guy and if the system works we can redeploy in other areas of interest.
