Hi Humphrey, good to meet you at the meeting..
ok - having gone to a iscwest conference.. chances are you're gonna want HIGHest resolution possible to ID the thieves.. this means not the cheapest solution. saving on a VCR may mean less resolution... also - camera specs.. each manu specs their cameras differently... argh camera setup - each setup mean different lighting conditions - as well as seasonal changes, thus one camera may not properly capture the image well enough - sometimes they will have 2 cameras - a low light and normal light one setup.. I think it's a cool project - noticed a number of cheaper systems were running on linux or MS OSes, but unfortunately it seemed that most of the application SW was closed source - and by the time you add everything up, not as affordable as you'd like tho, I must say I've been thinking - if I had the extra $ that making an mini-itx based system would be really nice. best matti On Sun, 27 Jun 2004 16:26:30 -0700, Humphrey Cheung <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hello all, > > I am setting up a low cost surveillance system.
