May I make a suggestion regarding DSL providers?

DSL Extreme is now moving into the business-class DSL arena after becoming a
favored choice of computer enthusiasts.

I have an account with them, with Verizon as my "last mile." Originally I was
only provided with one static IP address. I paid extra for a second IP,
because I enjoy the occasional online game and find that my router/firewall
is a pain to configure to open the right ports.

Recently, DSLX changed their policies. My 768/128 account was speedbumped to
768/384, (It's actually a 1.5Mbps/384Kbps account but my '50s vintage wiring
barfs at that speed) and I got not one but THREE IP addresses with my account
for no extra charge. Some higher speed accounts even get FIVE IP addresses.
Dynamic IP accounts are allowed 5 simultaneous users. There is no download
cap. I pay less than $50/mo for my service...competitive with both other DSL
providers and Cable.

My wireless access point is now on a separate IP address from my wired
network, and I now have a third IP address to play with for the future. Gotta
love it. From a complicated problem of routing and bridging and elaborate
rule systems, the solution of separate routable IPs and NAT behind them is
elegant and oh so simple. DSL Extreme makes it possible for me. They might be
a good choice for you.

(NB: I am not paid by them, I'm just a very happy customer.)
