would consider the USA to be the country least likely
in all the world to ever be in favour of Social
Credit.

laughable. Perhaps you did not know that Canadian
social credit very much derives from American
populism. Many if not the majority of the early
social crediters were the children and grandchildren
of Americans who had voted for William Jennings Bryan
in 1896.

My point exactly. All the 'free-silver' Democrats moved to Canada in disgust after Bryan lost! Seriously though, I think there is much more chance the Social Credit ideas will find more favour in Alberta, BC, Quebec, New Zealand and parts of Australia, and even England, than in the USA. Perhaps I'm wrong, and I hope I am, for the USA to lead the way would be a great thing for the world. But how many Socreds are there in Texas again?

That surpises me, coming from you. Douglas outlined a strategy. And it wasn't to stage a putsch, either. It's in the closing chapter of 'The Big Idea'. And other places in his later writings as well.
[Joe] People can indeed be 'persuaded'. But we are up
against some very powerful 'counter-persuasion'.
Which has it's hands on all the levers of power, and
in my opinion isn't going to willingly remove them.
