I'd like to install Fedora 8 on my net4801, but the hard disks are not detected by the kernel. I gather this issue has been fixed for the net5501 by the 1.32 BIOS---would there be a version for the net4801 as well? Can I just use the net5501 BIOS?
Apparently a device driver for the CS5536 ATA subsystem is now in the Linux mainstream; it can apparently deal with the CS5536 using either MSR or PCI, so an old BIOS would then be okay. But this may or may not make it into Fedora 8 before it is released.
