Try just to measure the resistance in the non-fried device.
If it is a resistor you'll get some approximate value.

However, this looks more like damage to the board than
to a component, I'd guess a thin trace got overloaded
and overheated. I don't think the problem will be solved
by reconnecting the path/exchanging the resistor or whatever,
most probably at least the voltage regulator is fried too.
