Well - Søren wrote that it is rated for 2,5A, which is a lot of
current and lot more than the Soekris requires.
There must be a lot more current for the bead to blow that much.
I generally think it is a very bad idea to run battery packs without
a fuse in the wiring.
And such a fuse for supplying a Soekris should maybe in the 1-2A range
and not more.
Adding fuses to battery packs is something noone should forget to add.
This is for protecting the cable and not the Soekris, since you can't
have a cable with the required gauge for sustaining a short ending in
a barrelplug, so the cable must be protected.
