Yes, but nothing too clever, just by timing dd. Usually in a CF<>PC
card carrier rather than a Soekris, but where I've tried the same type
of card in both, results are at least in the same order of magnitude.

You can tell by looking at dmesg -

wd0 at pciide0 channel 0 drive 1: <ELITE PRO CF CARD 1GB>
wd0: 1-sector PIO, LBA, 991MB, 2030112 sectors

wd0 at pciide0 channel 0 drive 0: <SanDisk SDCFX-2048>
wd0: 4-sector PIO, LBA, 1953MB, 4001760 sectors

I've only seen dmesg with SanDisk (lots, I think all the modern
cards), Lexar (1), and something unidentifiable (1) with 4-sector,
everything else I've seen is 1-sector.
