Fix Bugs First, Add Features Later.. I've been scorned for selecting .txt as a default doc format in the past (primitive, amateuristic, obsolete, stone age..). In this case it might be a welcome start. I care more about info than about markup myself. How hard can it be to type a few lines about pin layout in a text editor?
