Hi

Just received my 5501-70. It comes with BIOS 1.33 and (unlike many
others on this list) has no problems at all seeing and booting off the
8G Sandisk Extreme III CF card I fitted. However it refuses point-blank
to see the WD 320G SATA HD I fitted. It doesn't appear on the device
listing at the beginning and is marked "ignored (disabled)" when OpenBSD
has a go. I mangled the supplied SATA lead when removing it from the
mounting kit so I'm using a random SATA lead that I had lying around. I
can see the drive and it appears to work if I plug the SATA lead into my
PC (leaving it powered by the 5501) so its not the power, lead or the
drive. Is there something you have to set to get the 5501 to look at
the SATA? (I want it to boot from the CF like it does at the moment but
to have the HD for bulk storage.)

Any clues? I enclose a boot log in case it helps.

Thanks

John Cox
