Hello, I have a net5501 I just finished building a fresh 2.6.29 kernel and configured serial output via lilo.conf:
serial=0,19200n8 append="console=tty0 console=ttyS0,19200" Two problems: One, once the kernel loads the characters seem to be printing twice (the soekris combios displays fine, it is only when the kernel loads that the problem exists). I see this sort of response: _____________________________________________________________ 0:21:1 1022 2095 0C032002 0006 0230 08 00 00 A0006000 00000000 15 1 Seconds to automatic boot. I tried googling, but there is so much displayed here I dont even know where to start. ________________________________________________________________________ [ 0.000000] Linux version 2.6.29 (root@(none)) (gcc version 4.3.2 (CRUX) (GCC POST: 012345689b ) ) #1 SMP Thu Jul 9 21:35:50 UTC 2009 [ 0.000000] KERNEL supported cpus:yright (C) 2000-2008 Soekris Engineer [ 0.000000] Intel GenuineIntel [ 0.000000] AMD AuthenticAMDt 995-128-63 4013 Mbyte CP [ 0.000000] NSC Geode by NSC [ 0.000000] Cyrix CyrixInsteadRev Cmd Stat CL LT HT Base1 Ba [ 0.000000] Centaur CentaurHauls [ 0.000000] Transmeta GenuineTMx86---------------------------- [ 0.000000] Transmeta TransmetaCPU 0:01:2 1022 2082 10100 [ 0.000000] UMC UMC UMC UMC0000000 10 [ 0.000000] PAT not supported by CPU. 0:06:0 1106 3053 02000096 0117 0210 0 [ 0.000000] BIOS-provided 0:20:2 1022 209A 01018001 0005 02A0 08 00 00 00000000 0000000 [ 0.000000] BIOS-e820: 00000000fff00000 - 0000000100000000 (reserved)2 2094 0C031002 0006 0230 08 00 80 A0005000 00000000 15 [ 0.000000] DMI not present or invalid. 0:21:1 1022 2095 0C032002 0006 0230 0 [ 0.000000] last_pfn = 0x20000 max_arch_pfn = 0x100000 1 Seconds to automa [ 0.000000] ACPI Error (tbxfroot-0219): A vali [ 0.000000] (8 early reservations) ==> bootmem [0000000000 - 0020000000] [ 0.000000] Initializing cgroup subsys cpuset [ 0.000000] #0 [0000000000 - 0000001000] BIOS data page ==> [0000000000 -ubsys cpu [ 0.000000] Linux vers 0000001000]oot@(none)) [ 0.000000] #1 [0000001000 - 0000002000] EX TRAMPOLINE ==> [0000001000 - ) ) #1 SMP Thu Jul 9 21:35:50 UTC 2009 0000002000] [ 0.000000] PM: Registered nosave memory: 00000000000f0000 - 000000000010000000000 - [ 0.000000] Allocating PCI resources starting at 30000000 (gap: 20000000:dff0EX TRAMPOLINE ==> [0000001000 - 0000) [ 0.000000] NR_CPUS:64 nr_cpumask_bits:64 nr_cpu_ids:1 nr_node_ids:106000 - 0000007000] TRAMPOLINE ==> [0000006000 - [ 0.000000] PERCPU: Allocating 36864 bytes of per cpu data 0000007000] [ 0.000000] #3 [0001000000 - [ 0.000000] Built 1 zonelists in Zone order, mo [ 0.000000 [ 0.000000] Initializing CPU#0 BIOS reserved ==> [000009fc00 - [ 0.000000] PID hash table entries: 2048 (order: 11, 8192 bytes) 0000100000] [ 0.000000] #6 [00000070 [ 0.000000] Fast TSC calibration using PIT [ 0.000000] Detected 499.858 MHz processor.00] BOOTMAP ==> [0000002000 - [ 0.000999] Console: colour dummy device 80x25 0000006000] [ [ 0.000999] console [tty0] enabled [ 0.000000 [ 0.000999] console [ttyS0] enabled [ 0.000999] Dentry cache hash table entries: 65536 (order: 6, 262144 bytes) [ 0.000000] HighMem [ 0.000999] fixmap : 0xffc78000 - 0xfffff000 (3612 kB) [ 0 [ 0.000999] pkmap : 0xff400000 - 0xff800000 (4096 kB)0000a0000 [ 0.000999] vmalloc : 0xe0800000 - 0xff3fe000 ( 491 MB)emory: 00000000000a0000 - 00000000000f0000 [ 0.000999] lowmem : 0xc0000000 - 0xe0000000 ( 512 MB)0.000000] PM: Registered nosave memory: 0 mode...Ok.
