Hi all, I'm trying to install ubuntu server on my net5501 board and used various howtos, e.g.: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Soekris http://wiki.soekris.info/Installing_Debian_Linux_5.0
I'm using the exact same settings as described on the Soekris Wiki. My
net5501 has bios version 1.33.
The problem I have is the following: after obtaining the IP from the
server the box starts normally, requests the config file and stops with
the prompt:
Initial menu has no LABEL entries!
boot:
After typing "install" I'm getting the following three lines before the
screen becomes black and minicom tells me that it is offline:
Loading ubuntu-installer/i386/linux...........
Loading ubuntu-installer/i386/initrd.gz....................ready.
Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... ok
pxelinux.cfg:
CONSOLE 0
SERIAL 0 9600 0
include ubuntu-installer/i386/boot-screens/menu.cfg
default ubuntu-installer/i386/boot-screens/vesamenu.c32
prompt 0
timeout 0
txt.cfg:
default install
label install
menu label ^Install
menu default
kernel ubuntu-installer/i386/linux
append initrd=ubuntu-installer/i386/initrd.gz -- console=ttyUSB0,9600
earlyprint=serial,ttyUSB0,9600
I've tried to change the baud rate, I've put the line "console 0" to
every config file I could found and played around with minicom settings.
As far as I can say minicom gets disconnected since the box goes into
VGA mode and doesn't push the output to the serial port.
Hopefully, someone can give some useful hints...
Best Regards,
Sebastian
