I already do this with lighttpd on a net5501 which is also running as a NetBSD firewall and it works fine ... not sure whether Apache might be too heavyweight, but for me lighttpd for static pages and simple CGI it's not a problem ...
I'm on the downstream end of a reasonable ADSL link and so far no reliability issues that I've noticed ... thankfully our power hasn't had dropouts, nor have I had HDD issues, but that would be the expected faults, I'd imagine.
