I think he may have been referring to my email in which I stated that
as a wish list.  I keep sending replies for this list directly to the
senders thanks to the reply/reply all configuration.  All my other
lists use reply to reply to the group.  Anyway here is what I

In my experience this isn't just a Soekris issue so it's a little
unfair to paint it that way.  I've had external power bricks fail on
hard drives too with similarly odd symptoms.  The problem is there's
plenty of cheap imported power supplies with the proper specs
available so we all want ours to be inexpensive too.  Soekris likely
sells what they do because it mostly works and primarily it's cheap,
which is important for such a niche product that's already on the
expensive side.

Personally, I'd be willing to pay more for something built like a tank
that I know won't fail.  In fact, I'd like to have one (fanless) power
block with multiple leads that I could use to power a Soekris plus a
half-dozen or so external hard drives.
