So, in a previous life we encountered signficant trouble with
interactions between kernel drivers and the power managment
implementation of CF cards optimized for cameras. this caused alll sorts
of errors at the time, which changed subtantially how we selected and
qualified cf flash memory products. It's been a while, but with a low
sample size it's entirely possible that you're dealing with a model that
will never work out that well for you compared to some other potential
models that will.
