Hello,

We are looking for a Solid State Disk (SSD of about 200 GB or larger) that
works
well in the Soekris. Does anyone have any recommendations?

As I previously reported, we sometimes see what we call a "power-on boot error"
where the OWC Mercury Extreme Pro SSD is not seen by the comBios v1.33c in
about 1 in 15 boots of our net5501 when the power has been off for about 30
seconds.

Soekris does not understand why but speculated that it might be because:

"… SATA on the net5501 is not actually a controller but a bridge to the
IDE
interface and that might cause incompatibilities with certain disks
or more
specifically the chipsets of those (SSD) disks."

Someone at Sorkris hinted that using Intel SSDs without experiencing any issues.
So we went to the Intel SSDs site:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/buy/intelproducts/solid_state_drives.html

and selected for 2.5-inch SATA and SATA - 3.0 Gb/s interface and >= 200GB.
The web site returned Intel 320 Series 300GB SSD. Any comments on this model?

The Soekris folks suggested we ask the mailing list about their SSD experiences.

Has anyone had good success with reasonable sized Solid State Disks in the
Soekris?
