Bad form, Alvar.

There's no rule that you have to like Soren or Soekris - but hanging out on a help/support forum for a product to advise everyone to use something else is a classic dick move.

For what it's worth, Christopher - I have used Net6501s in plenty of places around my work environment with the rackmount case. Temperature has not been an issue, but if it were a PCI slot fan would probably be more than enough to compensate in either the desktop OR rackmount case, for 5501s or 6501s.

Here's one for $10: http://www.amazon.com/Antec-Cyclone-Blower-Expansion-Cooling/dp/B000051299/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1391188512&sr=8-1&keywords=pci+slot+fan

Non-disclaimer: I have no affiliation with Antec or Soekris or Soren.

P.S. I don't sell those and not affiliated with Mikrotik. Just after switching from Soekris to another brand (Alix, if x86 is mandatory or routerboard, if simply more ports/power needed). No problems since. Soekris boards and PSU-s are almost constant headache. Not to count Soren's attitude.
