Dick,

"A Software Defined Radio for the Masses", a 4 
part article about the SDR-1000 radio was in QEX. 
It's available anywhere, including the Flex Radio 
website. Part 1 of the article has to do with the 
commutating detector, and it's explained quite well.

It's practically required reading for those interested in QSD based radios.
