I have had the push button portable shortwaves and I had a Grundig BC 350 which is a good deal sometimes. Except the 350 uses analog tuning with a digital readout that will drift allot plus it gets i.f. images. If they can get rid of the drift that would make a better radio.
I am thinking now of getting another push button model and us it as I was saying, for SDR. If there is no room in some of them radios I then think the speaker could be pulled to locate the detector board in.
