Hi Bob They seem to go out of their way to make it difficult to compare but for the closest frequency comparison 15Mhz for 58, 59 vs 40Mhz for 51:
10Khz, 50Khz, 250Khz: 90, 87, 85dB <-- 58, 59 @ 15.1Mhz 10Khz, 50Khz, 250Khz: 93, 91, 89dB <--'51 @ 40Mhz The 9951, 9958 and 9959 appear to be of approximately the same vintage but now that I look closer even though each is at Rev0 of the datasheet the 51 is from late 2003 and the 58 and 59 are from late 2005. I missed that. The 9959 is a quad device and would seem much more likely to generate crud as a result. I can't see much difference in the WB and NB SFDR specs. The 9958 is a dual which might make sense if there's somethng that doesn't make it to the datasheet. Do you have an insider at AD? Can you point me to more info? The '58 would probably be easier to implement than a dual '51. '59 looks like overkill. I'm new to this stuff so if there's some history I've missed I wouldn't be surprised. No big deal on the clocking if it buys better performance! I'm not making a product or on a timeline so I'd rather just use the best device for the task. 73 jim ab3cv ------------------------ Yahoo!
