I'm planning to do a circuit and layout using ExpressPCB. I may use their PC fab service or just homebrew some or all of the boards.
Is this forum an appropriate place to post schematics and layouts in the files section for sharing and feedback? Or should I use ask to use DDS-VFO or start yet another? Currently planning to do: a 500Mhz VXO Master Oscillator board with 100Mhz sample output and adjust input for potential locking. Own power conditioning. This could intially be just a canned oscillator, followed by a filter and buffer circuits without the locking I/O. 0dBm into 50ohms. 9958 board with power conditioning, differential filters and LVDS receivers for squaring outputs. SIP header for external control. This keeps all of the high frequency stuff on one board. Some sort of control board, initially to drive from PC parallel port but ideally from USB if SW/HW interface could be found. SIP header to drive 9958 board. This allows complete freedom to play with control ideas. A Mixer board with onboard 24 bit A/D and power conditioning. Reading the dual A/Ds at speed is probably the hardest part of the activity. Almost wants me to make this interface with the HPSDR activity. If I did that I would probably just add the mixer to the 9958 board. The mixer board would probably be done last. I'd do the first three boards together and use a modified SR5 or SR6 and available PC soundcard and one of the SR compatible SW packages. thoughts? 73 jim ab3cv ------------------------ Yahoo!
