I did the same thing with my Racal RA6830. You can reduce the op amp gain to
around X10 and drop the sound card line level inputs. I have plenty of gain
ahead of my SDR interface.. fc

My radio background is strictly as an Amateur so I am here to learn.
I will use my Softrock as a "high powered" IF to soup up my Kenwood
TS-520S. If it works I hope to have a better receiver with a real nice
preselector already in place. The IF pick-off will be just prior to
the input to optional 3395khz xtal filters. I can turn off AGC and let
Winrad to that along with all of its other excellent functions. The RF
gain will "protect" me from the rare big signal that my multiband
vertical picks up. All packed up now and selling the house so I will
just selectively lurk and learn.
