Nothing is wrong with what you say but you have to understand it can be confusing for some one used to think in terms of superhet. It happened to me when I started to get involved with SDRs: in a superhet you have a filter just after the mixer so the term sideband is not usually mentioned, what is used is low/high side injection, images ... and the term sideband refers to the USB and LSB of a SSB transmission. The first time I saw the term sideband mentioned in regard to SDR I got confused until I realized that the spectrum display of my SoftRock shows the upper and lower sidebands relative to the LO frequency. For me the term sideband was referring to USB/LSB as in a SSB transmission. Jean-Claude PJ2BVU
