Gentlemen:
I have been working on the design and implementation of a stripped down
Software Defined Radio. Specifically, I have been using the dsPIC33 as a
processor and the MAXIM 9851 stereo CODEC. I have implemented several
'front end' modules as well as using the softrock and R2 modules. I am
presently finishing up my Class-E output amplifier.
I have been trying to find a discussion thread which addresses the
beginner topics of SDR. Things like fast convolution, block floating point
FFT implementations, Hilbert Transform implementations, limitations of fixed
point arithmetic, etc. I have read and re-read Lyons and Smith.
I am aware of the various SDR software projects and have examined the
code bases for several of them. Unfortunately, reverse engineering does not
really help one understand the issues involved nor help debug one's own
implementation(s). For me, it is the journey that leads to understanding.
I'm hoping to find a guide!
Can anyone on this thread point me to an ongoing discussion or an archive
through which I can see what others have experienced and discovered?
My thanks, sorry to have interrupted your day.
