Hi Alan,

that's nothing... I have a "sexier assembly" with SMD chips having legs up and 
most of all passive components smd 0805, plus some standard 0.1uF capacitor 
connected to Vcc pin to block the IC but also obviate that when a wire is 
pulled the smd 0.1 cap break. Also high value standard resistors used to clamp 
small coax or screend cables at input and output ports so no or low pulling is 
done on smd parts. I am sorry but I have no picture available.

 Hand soldering is still a nice work...the only snag with smd components with 
or w/o pcb is that goggles with good lens are necessary.
