Hi Lief, new and delete are C++'s version of malloc and free and you can use them instead but to be very honest I would suggest learning C++. You will thank me for this advice later on.
When I started with C in about 1984 the first thing I had to do was write a compiler for the customer hardware we were using. All my HRD & SDR code is C++ with some (minimal) assembler in the rare situation where I know better than the compiler.
