Hi,

I don't know if this is the correct list to ask this question, but I am
playing around with a CLE266 equipped VIA Epia board and want to connect
it to my Thomson TV. I have compiled in support for libcle266mpegdec and
DirectFB/DFB++ for softdevice. Decoding works fine, displaying on a
monitor works fine.

Now my problem is that the Thompson TV is quite sensitive conserning the
vertical refresh rate and would like to have something like 59.7Hz. My
Epia outputs 60.05Hz measured with an oscilloscope.

Now I tried to adjust the frequency using fbset and setting the
pixelclock just slightly higher for the 800x600-60 mode. fbset -i
actually informs me that the frequency should be something like 59.7Hz.

mode "800x600-60"
    # D: 39.604 MHz, H: 37.504 kHz, V: 59.719 Hz
    geometry 800 600 800 600 8
    timings 25250 88 40 23 1 128 4
    hsync high
    vsync high
    accel true
    rgba 6/0,6/0,6/0,0/0
endmode

But it doesn't effect the output from the Epia in any way. The
oscilloscope still displays 60.05Hz. It acutally doesn't matter if I set
it to 800x600-90, then fbset -i shows V: 89.913 Hz but the oscilloscope
still displays 60.05Hz.

What am I doing wrong? Why can't I adjust the frequencies using fbset?
Is my Epia board overriding the settings from linux in any way?

br,

Kim Fredenberg

PS. Dear list administrator, I unfortunaltely sent out this mail already
once having the wrong sender. Please ignore the message, thanks.
