Well, I've tried that option already and I've just tried it again to confirm, but the cropping option seems to be the opposite of what I want. The "problem" is that quite a few channels are broadcasting series and such that are in 16:9 in 4:3. So then I'll have black bars around the picture. Cropping to 16:9 just flattens the picture and stretches it horizontally. That doesn't give the correct aspect and the black bars above and below the picture remain. What it should do is zoom the picture, so that the black bars get "out of screen" to fill the entire screen. I'm running on DirectFB, maybe that matters? I think the aspect settings I've set up in softdevice are correct, as regular 16:9 broadcasts are "full screen". Maybe I'm missing the point, if so could someone point me in the right direction?
