I have viafb driver built in the kernel and have such record in grub.conf:

At usage linux-viafb driver on ME6000 I too can have only 60Hz on CRT, 
but if  use TV out instead of CRT, frame rate switches on 50Hz.
The driver linux-viafb has also improved the support for interlaced 
video through the TV output by Mark Adams.
Unfortunately, this driver does not work on cn700 chipset :(
