Thanks for the great responses. I'm really intrigued by the
      3Delight solution but I'd much rather have a native way to deal
      with this in Soft. I'm embarrassed to ask, having been away from
      CGI for almost two years, but how would you apply a strand to a
      nurbs circle with ICE?
